Google
Chrome on Android provides an option for limiting data. However, the same thing
does not work while browsing securely, means some of the pages that starts from
“https”, it simply does not reduce any data. The same data reducing option does
not work if you are browsing incognito. But still the following technique
reduces data up to 50% (Google Claims) while browsing the web on chrome.
To turn on “Reduce
data usage” on Chrome
- Simply
go to chrome menu
- Go
to settings, scroll down
- You
will see “reduce data usage”
- Turn
it on, that’s it
Low Data,
Poor Browsing
You read it
right, to save some MBs on Chrome. You will need to sacrifice some part of
quality browsing. As it is low data consumption technique, pages will take time
to load. That means you will need to wait longer than ever to load pages. It’s like
low bandwidth -less transmission -low data and longer the wait in loading
pages.
And another
disadvantage downgraded images. Images will not be load in best quality. Google
says,” Images on some website might look a little fuzzy.”
Website will
not be able to determine your location as you are now transmitting less data
than ever.
