No wonder WhatsApp is the #1 messaging app on all platforms, whether its Android, iOS or Windows, Users prefer WhatsApp over other apps due to its clean and simple user interference. If you ask me, 130 plus of my contacts are on WhatsApp which is slightly higher than We Chat or Line or Viber
And most importantly there are more than 10 WhatsApp groups in my smartphone, created by my colleagues, friends and relatives. Each and every one of them rings notifications 24*7. Sometimes chatting in these groups, kind of fun. But sometimes when you are at work or doing something really important. You kind of missed important messages due to all time notifications. In this condition, ‘Mute’ option in WhatsApp become the life savior.
Now you can Mute WhatsApp Group for a whole year
The latest WhatsApp update is the biggest relief. The new update now allows you to mute the notification for a whole year. Earlier, it was so annoying when you mute the group notification after a week period.
How to Mute the WhatsApp Group Notifications
This is really simple thing, to do so just go to WhatsApp on your Android smartphone
Head over to Group that you want to Mute
Tap the three vertical dot icon on the top right side corner
Tap on Mute option
And there you can see ‘Mute Group for….’
Just tap on the time period that you want to Mute, like I tapped on ‘1 Year’
Doing that will only opt-out from ringtone.
You can also opt-out from showing notifications as well by just unselect ‘Show Notification’ option. That will not allow WhatsApp to show messages in the notification bar of your smartphone. That’s it, all done.
Get Ready for Video Calling on WhatsApp
Some sources claim that WhatsApp is going to add video calling feature in it. As we know that WhatsApp is acquired by Social Media giant Facebook. And Facebook is trying hard to increase and improve the features and services, its doing all the ups and down for it. But some of the other sources also claim that the video calling feature in WhatsApp was already in the pipeline before the Facebook acquired it. So soon we will be able to do video calling on WhatsApp.
