Before the update, you always need to scroll down to see the latest in an app. The 'Whats New' description was in the bottom of an app description before the update. But with the new update the 'Whats New' section now highlighted in on top in green. So its really handy now and Google made it real easy to find out latest note in an app.

More Material Design and Colors, New Icons – New Looks

Google Play Store updated with more Material Design Features
The Google Play Store shortcut Icon itself got more flat design. And in the Play Store, the other option and settings also got new colors and flat responsive design. The sections like Apps, Movies, Games and Books are much brighter and colorful than before and looks cool and good.

Google recently bumped up the Newsstand app with the same Material Design. The Google Plus and Google Chrome app is also another example of getting Material Design. Google is rolling out new design to all of its app. I personally like the new and colorful UI. I expect more updates like this in future. If you have not got the new design update yet, then be patient, it will roll out soon to all. And don't forget to tell us your experience if you got the update. :-)
